Connecticut Board for Pardons and Paroles – is an autonomous state agency with administrative support provided by the Department of Correction. The Board possesses discretionary authority to grant pardons for criminal convictions and to grant parole to eligible and appropriate offenders in the community under supervision as a means of supporting their successful reintegration into law-abiding society. Justice Consultants provided training on domestic violence and inmate partner violence for the Board.
Central Connecticut State University (CCSU) Institute for Municipal & Regional Policy (IMRP) – The Institute for Municipal and Regional Policy (IMRP)’s mission is to effectively inspire and sustain a just, equitable, and inclusive Connecticut through independent research and evaluation, public policy analysis and development, and community engagement. IMRP is housed in Institutional Advancement at CCSU. Justice Consultants provided project leadership on the Women’s Working Group on Strengthening Family and Community Ties for the Connecticut Department of Correction project commissioned to develop recommendations to improve outcomes for incarcerated women, their children, families and community.
Family ReEntry, Inc. is a leading Connecticut community corrections, reentry, behavioral health, domestic violence offender intervention, and justice involved youth nonprofit social services agency. Justice Consultants provided technical assistance on grants and contracts, domestic violence program review and supervision, and clinical supervision for a mental health residential reentry program.
The Phoenix Association the only national organization working to “change the culture of the criminal justice and corrections systems” through facilitated conversations that bridge the divide and engender understanding and compassion among formerly incarcerated persons and corrections staff, along with others working in law enforcement and criminal justice. Justice Consultants provides project direction for on-going projects and programs, technical assistance in areas of program development and research, and administrative management.
Pioneer Human Services is a large nationally recognized social enterprise in Washington State that serves individuals released from prison or jail, and those in recovery, who are in need of treatment, housing, job skills training and employment. Justice Consultants provided analysis and training on development of a region-wide domestic violence offender intervention program – including senior staff training, review of regional policies and practices, and application of best-practices and offender intervention program standards.
Nutrition and Exercise v. Disease & Addiction (N.E.A.D.) is a Connecticut nonprofit focused on the application of the science and practical application of diet, nutrition, exercise, and life-style choices to “Reduce disease, addiction, criminal justice involvement, and the associated costs and consequences”. Justice Consultants provides technical assistance and consultation on aspects of program and organizational development.
